The Board of Governors is the Supreme regulatory body that reviews the academic performance, overall functioning and progress of the institute for constant up-gradation of academic performance and student and staff discipline. It also suggests the future plan on the staff recruitment & promotional policies and their career development. It also suggests and reviews the Staff- Student relationship for consistent improvement in student’s academic performance. It reviews and advises the Chairman and the Principal on framing and implementation the policy and rules and regulations of the Institute.
- Nature and Extent of involvement of faculty and students in academic affairs/ improvements
The academic committee of the institute meeting every fortnight to review the progress of course coverage as per the teacher’s lesson plan for each subject prepared and approved by HOD and Academic Committee in the beginning of each semester and takes appropriate measures for the timely completion and revision of the course before the end of the semester. On completion of academic instructions and before the find university Examination model question papers set by experienced faculties are discussed. Make up remedial classes are also arranged for academically – weaker section of student. While doing the above the monthly student feedback is duly taken into consideration.
- Mechanism/Norms & Procedure for democratic/good Governance
A number of committees headed by Principal & Senior Faculty members have been constituted to look after the various aspects like; admission, academic, examination, time-table, discipline, sports & cultural activities, purchase & stores, transport, canteen, grievance, hostel and others for day to day functioning of the Institute. These committees meet regularly to review and discuss the problems in their ambit and submit the report to the Principal and the Chairman for remedial measures and necessary action. Students consultative committees have been constituted for each batch of students to discuss and take up remedial measures on academic and related matters.
- Student Feedback on Institutional Governance/faculty performance
The student’s feedback is one of the most important parameters for the academic performance of the faculty members. The remedial measures like; the extra tutorials classes and revision of the course is decides by the Principal in consultation with respective HOD,s and further continuation of the faculty member in the institute.
- Grievance redressal mechanism for faculty, staff and students
For redressal of the grievance of faculty, staff and the students, a Grievance Committee (GC) is constituted by the Principal to look after different aspect in the institute. The last GC was reconstituted in September 2007 vide office order No. NMIET/OFFICE ORDER /2005/012 dated 15. 09. 2007. The committee receives the written complaints from the grieved member’s and makes all efforts to sort out and redress the grievances. The decisions of GC are forwarded to the Principal/Chairman for their approval and necessary action, if any.
